Living Devotion

This week is one of those rich moments in time where much lies before me on life's plentiful 'To Do' list. As I paused today to contemplate how I might meet all of this with grace, I was reminded by a resounding voice within that my greatest dedication is to living a life of devotion. So often it can be easy to get distracted by life's bountiful to do lists, errands, and those many, many things that require our time and attention. This is real. It's life. But it is not separate from our devotion. In fact, it is moments such as these that invite us to step ever more fully onto the path of our devoted heart. For me, my devotion is to living my embodied brilliance. This cannot be set aside when I have errands to run. Rather this is the energy that fuels my forward motion. Today, as I looked at that robust list before me, I took a deep breath, put my hand over my heart and reconnected with my devotion. I put the list aside as I chose instead to go outside and tend to my garden for a bit- to bask in the sunshine, connect with the earth, to get dirty and find that peace and beauty that is always there within each of us. Time in my garden was certainly not on my initial to do list today, but it was an answer to the call of my heart and I can't think of anything more important than devotion to answering that call. As a result of this heart-centered choice, I am more productive, present and joyful as I tend to everything else before me today.

What are you deeply devoted to? Now is a powerful time on the planet to allow that to reveal itself and to set your sails in that direction through your mindful, embodied choices, speech and action.
